Towering Fire Hits Ohio Insulation Factory

A massive and fast-moving fire at an Ohio insulation factory sent flames shooting two stories high and caused the building’s walls to collapse.

WJW-TV reports workers got out safely Sunday night before fire crews arrived at Janesville Acoustics in Newcomerstown, about 85 miles south of Cleveland.

The blaze drew firefighters from more than 15 departments in two counties. Crews were still trying to put out hot spots Monday morning.

The company makes insulation primarily for the automotive and transportation industries.

The fire’s cause was not immediately clear.
