Authorities are blaming a strong gust of wind for a freak accident in Sheboygan County that left a 31-year-old Plymouth woman in critical condition.
Authorities say the woman was hurt Saturday evening as she was riding in the bed of a pickup truck. She was holding on to the aerodynamic wing of a race car when a gust of wind lifted her out of the truck.
Sheboygan County sheriff’s Sgt. Kristy DeBlaey tells the Sheboygan Press the woman was in critical condition Sunday at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa. The victim wasn’t named.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. on Blueberry Road in Plymouth. The woman was flown by helicopter ambulance to the hospital.
