A St. Louis County man is jailed after police allegedly caught him in the act of committing arson – with gasoline cans in his hands.
KMOX Radio reports that 37-year-old Robert Luster was arrested Saturday night. He did not have a listed phone number and it wasn’t immediately clear if Luster had an attorney.
Police say they received a tip that a man was planning to burn down a house in Pine Lawn for the insurance money. When Pine Lawn police arrived, they allegedly saw Luster with gasoline cans in his hands and preparing to leave.
The home did not burn, but police say so much gasoline had been poured throughout the home that an explosion could have leveled not only that home but several others nearby.
