South Dakota’s Insurance Division says insurers must provide full coverage for personal property that’s been moved because of a flood threat on the Missouri River.
The directive is in force until July 8 for any property removed on or after May 25.
Officials said some commercial and homeowner policies limit insurance coverage for property that’s removed from the insured premises.
Insurance Director Merle Scheiber said the July 8 deadline gives property owners and insurance agents time to decide coverage for relocated property.
