The former Christian County, Kansas, assessor and her husband have pleaded guilty to fraud charges, including fraud against an insurance company, in two separate but connected cases.
Fifty-one-year-old Sandra Bryant-Littles, of Clever, pleaded guilty in federal court to four counts of mail fraud. She admitted that she did not assess herself for personal property taxes she owed personally and at her Poco Cala Ranch in southwest Missouri.
Her fraud was discovered during an investigation into a report of a cattle theft from her husband, 62-year-old Lonnie Utah Littles. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, two counts of bank fraud and two counts of wire fraud.
Lonnie Littles admitted he defrauded Liberty Bank and Shelter Insurance Company by claiming that cattle he had used as collateral for a loan had been stolen. The cattle had not been stolen.
