Cedar Rapids, Iowa, fire officials say a recent fire at an apartment complex was intentionally set.
The fire at Gateway Gardens was reported early on May 16 when one of the residents called 911 after hearing smoke alarms going off in a second-floor hallway of the two-story building.
The building has eight apartments, and three were occupied. Seven people, including three children, escaped unharmed.
Fire department spokesman Greg Buelow says investigators determined the fire, which started in a hallway, was intentional.
He says no arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.
