A French prosecutor leading an investigation into the debilitating ski accident of Formula One great Michael Schumacher says authorities have ruled out any criminal wrongdoing in the case.
The office of Albertville prosecutor Patrick Quincy said in a statement Monday that “no infraction by anyone has been turned up.”
The 45-year-old Schumacher suffered serious head injuries Dec. 29 when he fell and hit the right side of his head on a rock off the side of a demarcated slope in the French ski resort of Meribel. The German has been treated in Grenoble University Hospital since then.
Schumacher’s doctors have started waking him from an induced coma. A statement from his spokeswoman declined to provide further details about his health, citing privacy concerns.
