The state will open an office in East Haven to help residents apply for money from a Superstorm Sandy disaster recovery fund.
The office is scheduled to open on Thursday and residents can begin scheduling appointments on Monday.
Community Development Block Grant funds are intended to help residents who are not covered by insurance, federal emergency programs or other funding sources in communities most affected by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.
Connecticut’s Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation and Rebuilding Program helps residents replace and rehabilitate their homes and and improve the resilience of their homes.
The state has set aside $30 million for the program. The grants range from $10,000 to $150,000.
