Vermont transportation officials say they have a plan to keep people safe on the state’s roadways.
They’re planning to announce Monday in Waterbury what they’re calling “Operation Safe Summer”, a strategic highway safety plan.
State officials will be joined by others who helped craft the plan which will be the guiding document in battling the public health problem of injury and death on Vermont’s roads.
The event will also serve as an introduction for the Vermont Highway Safety Alliance that includes education, enforcement, engineering and emergency medical services. But it also brings together the public health community and the insurance industry as well as advocacy groups.
