Maine Couple Charged With Arson in 2007 Insurance Fraud

March 25, 2013

A Palmyra couple has been charged with deliberately setting fire to their home more than five years ago to collect the insurance money.

Trevor Louis Turner and Carissa Jo Turner were arrested Wednesday on arson charges after indictments by a Somerset County grand jury.

Arson is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Fire was reported at the Turners’ home on Sept. 17, 2007. No one was home.

Authorities did not say what led to the charges about 5 1/2 years after the fire. Prosecutors say that information will come out at trial.

The Morning Sentinel reports that the Turners are being held on $10,000 bond each and are scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Superior Court in Skowhegan. It was not clear who their lawyer is.
