A New Jersey judge is blocking an upcoming post-superstorm “reconstruction summit.”
State Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa alleges William Loiry has hatched a scheme to profit from those suffering from Sandy.
In issuing the temporary restraining order, the judge told the summit organizer to notify everyone that the event is canceled.
The state alleges the organizer has violated the state’s Consumer Fraud Act and has created the false impression that the summit is somehow government-sanctioned.
Loiry has said he was shocked by the lawsuit and felt it “has no merit whatsoever”.
