State police say two construction workers were seriously injured after falling 30 to 40 feet off scaffolding in Storrs near the University of Connecticut campus.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident, which happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday off Dog Lane.
Lt. J. Paul Vance of the state police says both workers were flown by helicopter to Hartford Hospital. Their names and medical conditions haven’t been released. Vance says both have multiple injuries.
The Daily Campus, UConn’s student newspaper, reports that the men were working on the Storrs Center redevelopment project and that a spokeswoman for the general contractor, Erland Construction, declined to comment.
