Officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency are going door-to-door in Louisa County collecting information on property damage from the magnitude-5.8 earthquake on Aug. 23.
The Daily Progress of Charlottesville reports that FEMA officials have canvassed approximately one-third of the county.
Officials have estimated damage from the quake totals about $80 million to schools and homes.
On Nov. 4, the White House approved federal assistance to Louisa County, the epicenter of the powerful quake. They have already approved $2.7 million in emergency grants.
A Louisa County Disaster Recovery Center has opened in Louisa to assist residents. The center is open Monday through Saturday.
