Fire officials in Vermont have determined that a fire that destroyed part of a garage attached to a single-family home was intentionally set.
Vermont State Police say the garage was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the residence in Newport at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Officials say the garage was attached to the home by a breezeway, and that the fire was contained before it spread to the house.
Police say fire investigators have ruled the fire an arson. Nobody was injured.
