Police say someone stole 19 catalytic converters from a car dealership in northern New Jersey.
The thefts happened between 9:30 p.m. Thursday at 9 a.m. Friday at the Hyundai dealership on Route 23 in Wayne.
Police Capt. James Clarke tells The Record newspaper the pollution-reduction devices are valued at $28,000.
Officials say the converters are sold for scrap because they contain a small amount of platinum.
