A Massachusetts roofing contractor faces $40,000 in fines for an incident in which a worker was hurt when he fell off a nearly 10-foot roof in Milford, N.H., in May.
The Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration says Centimark Corp. of Chelmsford, Mass., failed to protect employees and did not inspect the job site to identify and correct hazards. According to OSHA, the company was cited for similar hazards at work sites in Illinois, Texas and Philadelphia in 2009 and 2010.
The company has 15 days to meet with OSHA or contest the citations.
