A man is being treated for severe burns after a gas stove exploded and destroyed his mobile home in eastern Pennsylvania.
Authorities in Alsace Township say the explosion happened while 65-year-old Kermit Schnader was trying to light the stove around 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
The Reading Eagle reports that Schnader was flown to a hospital with burns to his head and hands.
Firefighters say the trailer was engulfed in flames within minutes and was destroyed.
Pennsylvania State Police investigators say the explosion was apparently caused by a malfunction in the stove. The fire has been ruled accidental.
