Fire crews are trying to determine if lightning sparked a fire that badly damaged the showroom of a car dealership in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Deputy fire chief Mike Fahey says the showroom’s trusses were badly charred in the fire at Contemporary Motorcar Mazda of Erie, making the roof unsafe.
George Lyons says he bought the dealership just last month.
Lyons says some witnesses talked about seeing a lightning strike shortly before the fire was reported about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. But investigators could not immediately confirm what caused the blaze.
Lyons says there were three cars in the showroom, and another in the garage in the back of the building that were all damaged.
