The Virginia Division of Forestry has more than doubled a reward in an arson case involving one of its firefighting vehicles.
The agency is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the torching of a fire dozer transport vehicle last September. The original reward was $2,000.
The transport vehicle was set on fire while parked on private land about 8 miles southeast of Rocky Mount. The Division of Forestry had planned to use the vehicle for a prescribed burn.
The Virginia State Police and the Franklin Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
