A New York City woman with a heart condition died Friday after getting stuck for a half hour in a stalled elevator.
Danielle Goldberg was 26.
Her family says she became trapped in the elevator of her Staten Island building at about 11:35 a.m. as she returned from a doctor’s appointment.
She was able to call her family for help, but by the time rescuers arrived just after noon she was unconscious.
She died later in the day at a hospital.
Goldberg’s family said she suffered from a congenital heart defect.
