Authorities say two men are seriously injured after falling 30 feet from a construction site in Washington, D.C.
Fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says officials believe a wind gust shook the scaffolding around the Safeway store on Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown on Friday morning. Piringer says the two men, who are brothers, lost their footing and fell along with some construction debris.
Piringer says the brothers ended up in a ditch. Crews rescued the men and took them to a hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
There was a high wind warning for Washington on Friday, with the National Weather Service saying residents could expect strong winds of 25 to 35 mph gusting between 55 to 60 mph.
