Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a fire in Northampton, Massachusetts that claimed the life of an elderly man and his son.
District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel said in a statement that 25-year-old Anthony P. Baye was arrested at about 8 p.m. on Monday.
He was arraigned Tuesday in Northampton District Court on two counts of murder, arson and armed burglary.
The Dec. 27 blaze claimed the lives of 81-year-old Paul Yeskie Sr. and 39-year-old Paul Yeskie Jr. It was one of nine fires in the western Massachusetts city of Northampton set within hours of each other.
Baye, who lives in the same neighborhood, has not been charged in connection with any of the other fires.
A woman who answered the phone at the Baye home Tuesday refused to comment.
