Three western Pennsylvania residents have pleaded guilty to taking part in a chiropractor’s scheme to defraud an insurance company.
John Layhew, of Lower Burrell, and Linda and William McClafferty, of New Kensington, each pleaded guilty to one count of health care fraud in federal court on Wednesday.
Prosecutors say the three got kickbacks for allowing Westmoreland County chiropractor Douglas Henderson to file fraudulent claims under their insurance policies.
Henderson, of Lower Burrell, already pleaded guilty to defrauding Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Pittsburgh out of more than $7 million.
