A small fire at an apartment tower in State College, Pennsylvania forced the evacuation of more than 100 apartments.
The fire at the 12-story Penn Tower started shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Investigators believe it started in the heating-cooling unit of a Penn State student’s room.
The fire broke a water pipe in the wall and damaged a half dozen apartments.
Residents in the undamaged apartments were allowed to return home around 9 p.m. There is no word on when residents living in the damaged units will be allowed to return.
The blaze also caused traffic congestion for people leaving Beaver Stadium after Penn State’s 66-10 win over Coastal Carolina.
