Plaintiffs Say They’ve Settled NYC Apartment Smoking Suit

April 10, 2008

The plaintiffs say they have settled a lawsuit accusing a chain-smoking neighbor of making their famous Manhattan apartment building smell like a casino.

Jonathan and Jenny Needleman Selbin said Monday that neighbor Galila Huff has agreed to use smokeless ashtrays and an air-filtration system in her apartment at the Ansonia. Huff is declining to comment.

The Selbins have said smoke from Huff’s cigarettes wafted into their apartment and hallway and endangered their 4-year-old son’s health.

Huff has said the Selbins made too much of the issue.

The Upper West Side building has been home to luminaries including Babe Ruth, Jack Dempsey, Igor Stravinsky and Angelina Jolie.
