This is directed to “I HAVE TO AGREE”
    YOU SAID AND I QUOTE,

“(6) Every group has had it own struggles for acceptance – Blacks, Jews, the Irish, the Italians, etc. It’s Hispanics turn but it’s more like gimme, gimme, gimme and let me stay a non taxpaying illegal alien and don’t make me pay into the system. You have to pay to play and if you don’t want to pay then as far as I concerned if you do become a citizen and say they make you pay back taxes for the generations of your relatives that have been here, we will see how many immigrants will want to stay then. If you fear deportation so much then act right. It’s not hard. I get sick and tired of the “I fear so much” and “we can’t come out of the shadows, “I can’ drive without fear”. You eat without fear, you get medical attention without fear, etc. PLEASE!!!”

My response, First I am an anglo or white person. You have got to be kidding me with your comments about Mexicans. Grouping all Mexicans together is every bit as ignorant as saying that all white people are stupid rednecks that eat at McDonalds and shop at Wal-Mart or that all blacks eat fried chicken and watermelon or all Indians can’t handle whiskey. I live in a border state. I am more than happy to go to church, dinner, fight in combat, have as my neighbors, cook carne asada, with Mexicans. The illegal alien problem was not caused by the entire Hispanic population but rather by all peoples entering, working and remaining in this country illegally. You sir or madam sound ignorant and need to vindicate your mistakes by apolgizing to all of us who read your comments.

Well you may have been born here but you are obviously not educated. Your post is as stupid as you are. There is a huge difference between the legal immigration of the past and the ILLEGAL immigration of the present. Take off your blinder and your dunce cap, read and educate yourself a bit before casting stones.

Then do your part & report the illegals to the respective departments that are in place to handle the removal of these illegal workers. If you have to call everyday, then do so until you get results. If I knew of a business that hired them I would not have a problem making calls every day, or even every hour to letthem know there are still illegals working there & eventually they would either quit answering the phone or maybe do a raid & make a difference!

When I lived in the Hill Country (Texas) there would be several of them walking just off the main higway (83) & I simply would document what I saw, when & where & then call the local Border Patrol office & make a report – everytime I saw them. There were many ranches that were being fined $5000 per illegal on their property, which made several ranchers hot under the collar, but stepped up their efforts to keep them out.

I am also guilty of feeding them, as there were 3 men that stumbled up our driveway when we were grilling & they were hungry, offered $20 for food to feed them, but I did not take advantage of their not understanding & let them keep their $ & I fed them. This was out of human kindness, and I would do it for anyone that was hungry if I had the means to share, with race not playing a part in any way, I would also feed a stray dog or cat…

But, if you want to see a different result, you have to take the steps to change. Call your local Border Patrol or INS offices, get to know the people that are doing the work there & send them a great job card when you can – letthem know that you support the work they do & it is not for nil.

    Dear JackAss,
The Mexican people were in several states before whitey and blackey migrated to the west and southwest. There is no way Hispanics deserve a turn as you say, unless it would be to teach you about American history.

Um..i was speaking more from a government control perspective. there are companies that have INS raids all of the time…and the people just get sent back to mexico, but nothing seems to happen to the companies. then guess what, the company goes back and recruits more illegals. i would like to see the government hand heavy duty fines and have owners in jail for some time….

i don’t need a neighborhood watch calling the government if all they are going to do is ship people back home and let the company keep repeating the viscious cycle. that is completely and utterly useless.

We like to throw around the “b” word. To all who disagree with my post, let me clarify something. When I say that it is Hispanics turn, I am stating this from the standpoint point that people will accept your plight when you deign to become a part of the citizenry. You can take my comments anyway you like about education and the like. EVERYONE should get an education. My only problem is with prisioners getting one and I already as a CITIZEN pay for that when I had to pay for my own college education. The facts are that immigrants of any ethnicity should pay taxes and get a card / citizenship as soon as possible. Like welfare, illegal status shouldn’t be something passed down from one generation to the next like oops I forgot I wasn’t a citizen. If half of the purported 20 million Hispanic illegals came here legally that still leaves 10 million people that need to become citizens. I didn’t make the rules but I still abide by them. Think about it, anyone that comes here illegally, the state does not have a background check to fall back on, no SSN or any other track record. Does that sound right to you, Jack-Off? I did not use a racial epithet as I would not appreciate it. You can be prideful of what country you come from, but more than anything it’s great to be in America and an AMERICAN. It seems that Eastern Europeans, Arabs, Africans and East Indians and others do not have any problem with coming here and establishing themselves legally but the Hispanic group thinks they are special and should be treated different. That’s what I have a problem with.

You need to check YOUR history. Peoples came first across the Bering Strait, then came Africans, then the Vikings, and everyone else and America is named after Amerigo Vespucci – an Italian. Blacks built this country and unfortunately Whites directed them to throught the system of slavery. At least Hispanics are getting paid for their labor. You’re doggone right that it’s your turn to be a viable LEGAL slice of the American pie. Some people posting do not want citizenship status granted at all so at least I’m nice.

Also, Africans intermingled with and taught the Olmecs (early Mexican) and you can see their artwork and artifacts in Mexico. Read any of Dr. Ivan Van Sertima’s books. We know that there was a Hispanic presence – New Mexico, Arizona, California – those names are not of English, German or any other origin. And anyway all life started in Africa (Ethiopia) so there!!!

Several years ago I worked for a company in Colorado that had quite a few hispanics working for them. When I questioned my boss concerning a “doctored” social security card that had been used to get employment, I was told that we were not allowed to question the card, that we were to accept it as is. (as per our government instructions) These illegals also got free medical services. These inequities not make me very happy. Why should I have to show a legal SS #, and pay premiums for insurance to cover medical neccesities?

Steve, thanks for the compliment. As lefties disagree with you it is typical to resort to personal attacks and name calling. Well Dumba** I can relate to immigrants – first my cousins immigrated here from Brazil and Italy to become U.S. citizens, it was one of their most proudest days of there life and great ceremony taking in how proud everyone was to become a citizen. My best friends became a U.S. citizen from Israel. I saw first hand how much money they spent in attorney fees and time devoted to becoming citizens, not to mention the amount of money invested in U.S. business ventures to satisfy the U.S. Govt. requirements in becoming citizens. They are all very happy to be citizens of this country. So don’t tell me I’m ignorant to this discussion. I have seen first hand how immigrants who go through the system legally try to become a citizen and are proud of their achievements.
The fact is the illegals broke the law and try to circumvent the process. If they overstayed their visa’s to try and screw the system or jumped ship or jumped over a wall, they need to go! Government does not need to appease these people and give them the same rights as those of us who are here legally and paying taxes! But the Spitzer types don’t care about money cause you and I are their funding vehicle, in the form of taxes. So take your know-it-all kum-by-ya attitude and stick it!
    Proud to be an American!!!

I worry for the state of this country… and I make sure my government knows it.

The best thing we can do is ANNOY THE DICKENS out of our representatives on the state and federal levels with calls, emails and letters. Ask your family and friends to do the same.

    Here’s how…

http://www.votesmart.org (Contact info for almost everyone in any elected office can be found here!)

http://www.rockthevote.com (Register to vote if you haven’t done so yet.)

Capitol Switchboard – (202) 224-3121 (Give the operator your zip code to be connected with the appropriate Senator or Rep.)

Email, call, write a letter, write 10 letters! Get in their faces (politely, of course) and make sure they know HOW you want them to represent YOU.

Since Mexican carriers are now crossing the border and hauling freight in the US, how long until these drivers get US CDLs? Does this new licensing proposition address CDLs?

If Mexican carriers begin to haul freight in the US in large enough numbers, it will put American drivers out of business.

America started as a melting pot and will continue to be a melting pot. There is nothing wrong with people from other countries coming here to live AS LONG AS they do so through the proper channels, pay taxes, speak the language and do everything else that is expected of a natural born American.

However, I believe Nebraskan made the excellent point that until businesses cease to hire cheap illegal immigrant labor, the problem with illegal immigrants will never ever go away.

Therefore we will continue to pay for them in one way or another through higher insurance premiums and taxes; and American labor workers will pay the price through reduced wages due to competition from illegal workers.

    Call, write, email, ANNOY! LOL
