Afsharnik Joins Wachovia Executive Liability Practice in N.Y.

Miles R. Afsharnik has joined Wachovia Insurance Services, Inc. as a vice president and National Claims and Legal Resource Director for the Executive Liability Advisors group.

Afsharnik will be located in Wachovia Insurance Services’ New York office.

In his new position, Afsharnik will support Wachovia Insurance Services clients by serving as their advocate on legal matters relating to complex management liability claims.

Afsharnik was most recently employed with Arch Insurance Group as claims counsel and prior to that he spent several years as vice president in Marsh’s National Employment Practice Group. Afsharnik also served with Zurich North America as an underwriting counsel and claims manager.

Prior to entering the insurance industry in 1999, Miles was assistant corporation counsel for the City of New York focusing on employment litigation matters. He also was an associate in the law firm of Phillips Lytle, LLP.

Wachovia Insurance Services’ Executive Liability Advisors is a specialty practice group dedicated to the placement and handling of management and professional liability insurance coverages. The practice currently has specialists in Atlanta, New York, Cleveland and Wayne, N.J.
