Colorado has approved $2.29 million in grants to repair streams and watersheds damaged by September’s historic floods.
The Longmont Times-Call reports that the grants will go to projects in Boulder, Weld, Larimer and Jefferson counties. They were approved last month by the Colorado Water Conservation Board.
The grant program was created through legislation that Gov. John Hickenlooper signed into law this year. The grants will reimburse up to 50 percent of the cost to clean up debris and restore watersheds.
