A judge has set bail at $1 million for a Northern California teenager accused of using stolen credit cards to rent a $240,000 sports car and a $12 million vacation home.
The Santa Rosa Press Democrat on Monday says Mohanned Halaweh remains in the Sonoma County jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The 19-year-old from Rohnert Park was arrested Wednesday while driving an orange 2012 McLaren coupe he had rented for $13,000 and was subsequently reported stolen by its owner.
Prosecutors have charged Halaweh with credit card fraud, receiving stolen property, identity theft and vehicle theft.
Halaweh has also been charged with allegedly using a fake credit card to try to buy 14 iPhones and laptop computers at an Apple Store in Berkeley in March.
