Two burglars who were convicted of looting the home of a pair of Waldo Canyon fire evacuees have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
Shane Garrett was sentenced to 48 years in prison, and Belinda Wells-Yates was sentenced to 72 years in prison during separate hearings on Wednesday.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, both were convicted of second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, theft and identity theft.
Prosecutors say electronics, musical equipment, jewelry, a checkbook and keys to a warehouse were taken from a home evacuated during the fire.
The Waldo Canyon fire killed two people and destroyed or damaged 359 homes last year.
