A Missoula, Mont., man who police say broke into a neighbor’s house to steal prescription drugs and was caught trying to break in a second time a few days later has been charged with felony burglary and attempted burglary.
The Missoulian reports that 31-year-old Jayson Eugene Slater was charged Friday and released on his own recognizance.
Police say Slater told them he wanted the prescription medication because he was out of work and didn’t have insurance to cover his own medications.
He was arrested Thursday after a man told police he spotted someone trying to break into a home.
A woman who lives at the home reported the home had been burglarized Monday but she initially thought nothing was missing.
