A northern Idaho woman is suing Kootenai County and a public transportation system alleging that she was dragged behind a bus during a stop in Coeur d’Alene last year.
Allison R. Cavilee of Post Falls filed her complaint in Idaho’s 1st District Court late last week.
The Coeur d’Alene Press reports Cavilee claims she was injured while using Citylink Transit, a free bus service in Kootenai and Benewah counties, on Sept. 22, 2011. Specifically, Cavilee alleges she was retrieving her bicycle from a rack attached to the rear of the bus when the driver pulled away too soon, dragging her 15 feet.
She claims her bike was damaged while she suffered injuries to her back, neck and arm.
Cavilee is seeking more than $20,000 in damages plus attorney’s fees.
