YEAH!! MORE TAX. HAS ANY POLITICIAN EVERY THOUGHT, MAYBE WE SHOULD CUT BACK ON GOVERNMENT WASTE.

I GUESS IT’S NOT BAD ENOUGH MY HOME OWNERS INSURANCE HAS GONE 350% IN THE LAST 10 YEARS, AND THEY CONTINUE TO THREATEN ME THAT I WILL SOON BE UN INSURABLE!

MAYBE THE STATE CAN START CHARGING FEES TO THE URBAN AREAS FOR CROWDING OUR JAILS & PRISONS, OR WAIT: THAT WOULD BE RACIST AND/OR PROFILING BECAUSE WHO LIVES WHERE. AS ONE COMMENT SAYS “Who do these folks think should pay for their protection? My tax dollars? I don’t think so. This is their cost of living there. If they’re afraid of fires, let them move.” IT’S NOT “My tax dollars?”, IT’S OUR TAX DOLLARS! WE ALL PAY INTO THE SAME SYSTEM FOR OUT SERVICES I.E. SALES, PROPERTY, INCOME, ETC. TAX. FOR THE RECORD, I’M NOT AFRAID OF FIRES. ARE PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN S.F. AFRAID OF EARTHQUAKES? SHOULD THEY PAY THE CITY AN EARTHQUAKE FEE?

    WHERE DOES IT END???

We already pay for fire protection in our property taxes!

Here’s where I see this going:
Law enforcement in and near zip 93675 is a joke to say the least. With Marijuana fields everywhere and the Fresno County Board of “Stupidvisors” controlling the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department, there has been very little effort put forth to control the “fires” that are burning in the area now!

So what’s next, a new “fee” for law enforcement?

The average American pays 64.5% of every dollar made in taxes/fees in one form or another. Keep track of the taxes and “fees” you pay, you may get a little angry.

Just remember, a “fee” is nothing more than a tax hiding in plain site.

The Valley Springs area has so many abandoned or foreclosed homes sitting empty now, and here comes another tax? Obviously Governor Brown does not care that this will be more than people barely hanging on can handle and there will be more folks losing their homes. I would not mind the 150.00 year tax if that means Cal Fire is going to keep my weeds all cut down around my propery for the money. I already pay a least 300.00 a year to keep it clear. The forced Fema flood insurance is bad enough, I am technically 275 feet from a flood zone and no base elevation level has even been established so why are we being forced to pay for insurance we don’t want, and making it even harder to sell our homes.

We already pay for fire protection. Besides I work 4 jobs to be able to own my own home by myself as a sigle women. I bust my butt for what I have and this is not right to tax $150 more to what a home owner has and to say it must be paid within 30 days of the bill.

CalFire has never made fire prevention a priority. I know as I worked as a Volunteer In (fire) Prevention (VIP) as well as a volunteer firefighter with CDF. While the chiefs got new vehicles every few years (when the old ones would more than suffice), we had to beg for a few dollars to put up prevention signs to remind folks to be fire safe. The firefighters’ union even fought to stop the FireSafe Council to stop them from using prisoner work crews on certain brush clearance projects.

I asked a representative from CalFire why it was that they could spend MILLIONS of dollars fighting one fire but there wasn’t a few ten’s of thousands to do prevention work, and I was told, to my face, that it comes out of “another budget.” It only comes out of another budget because they want it to.

Sure, they have Smokey Bear and other education projects, but these do not help mitigate fires nor prevent their spread. One of the biggest fires in my rural community could very likely have been stopped from spreading if CalFire had used their resources to identify, create, and maintain firebreaks in the area.

Our county’s CDF headquarters had the chief’s office remodeled. How was that paid for? Your tax dollars. CalFire use to be the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and before that they were California Department of Forestry (CDF), and if I correctly recall, something else before that. new stationary, station sinage, engine decals, uniform patches, etc. How much did those name changes cost us taxpayers? Let me guess- it came out of another budget.

What will I get for my money? Will they come and help me cut and remove brush? Will they help me rake? Will they be clearing more thoroughly along roadways? I will get nothing in addition to what I am already paying. A fee is supposed to give extra service. This doesn’t. It’s a tax.

First we get a mailer to expect the bill. Then we get the bill. A number of local residents got a bill for $0.00, then subsequently the correct bill. The printing and mailing costs of all that… who do you think pays for all that?

This turnip is out of blood. I have been a democrat for all my voting life. I will be voting against Jerry Brown the next time he is up for reelection.

Fee Rate:$150 per habitable structure in the state (SRA). Cal Fire
is not telling you if you have a structure fire they will not respond to it. They dont fight structure fires, have no training for structure fires. Why pay a tax for untrained fire fighters to come and watch your structure burn to the ground.
