Montana sheriffs’ officials two horseback riders suffered serious injuries after falling from their horses, and that one rider was partially rolled on by her horse.
Officials tell the Billings Gazette that the riders were part of a group of six riders with a local guide service on a trip north of Big Sky on the Porcupine Creek Trail on Friday.
Officials say muddy conditions were likely factors in the mishaps, and that after the first fall a spooked horse appeared to cause the second fall.
Emergency responders located the fallen riders and removed them by ATV and rescue sled, and they were then transported to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
