Officials are calling for changes to a southwestern North Dakota highway after a bus accident involving a high school basketball team.
The bus carrying the Hettinger-Scranton boys’ team was traveling to Dickinson for a game on Friday went it went off a curve on state Highway 21 and rolled. Twenty-eight students and four staff members were on the bus. Most were treated for minor injuries but an assistant coach was hospitalized with a concussion.
State Rep. Mike Schatz of New England and Scranton Mayor Virgil Hendrickson tell The Dickinson Press that they think changes should be made to the curve because it’s dangerous.
The Highway Patrol says the speed limit for the curve is 45 mph.
