Disaster Loan Office for Nevada Fire Closes Dec. 23

December 19, 2011

Reno residents victimized by last month’s big wildfire have another week to get information and make applications for federal disaster loans at a special office set up in town.

The U.S. Small Business Administration says it will close the temporary Disaster Loan Outreach Center at 1 p.m. next Friday.

In the meantime, SBA Director Edward Cadena says customer service reps are available form 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the office on Sinclair street to help residents and business owners affected by the Caughlin fire that destroyed 30 homes and damaged dozens more.

Businesses and non-profit groups can borrow up to $2 million. Homeowners can get up to $200,000 to repair real estate and homeowners and renters are eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace personal property.
