The attorney for a Florence, Montana, bicyclist who received a nearly $100,000 out-of-court settlement after hitting a patch of ice and crashing on a pedestrian/bike path says his client suffered a traumatic brain injury and lost his job as a result.
Attorney Dennis Lind told the Ravalli Republic that his client didn’t just scratch his face. He suffered a concussion, has cognitive difficulties and is continuing vocational rehabilitation.
The president of the Florence Park District had criticized the settlement. John Cornish said people should know riding a bike at night in the winter is a little dangerous.
The bicyclist sued a Florence bar where snow had been plowed out of the driveway and onto the path. The bar sued the park district, which was responsible for plowing the path.
