A man who filed a lawsuit against the Bozeman Police Department in Montana contending two officers used a stun gun without justification and left him with a serious head injury has filed additional motions contending police conspired to cover up what happened.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle in a story published Sunday reports that attorneys for Soheil “Jesse” Verdi filed the motions in federal court. They say police supervisors failed to investigate, erased an audio recording and conspired to cover up events.
Defense attorneys have asked that the case be dismissed.
Verdi filed the lawsuit in 2009 following the 2007 incident that he says left him with life-changing head injuries. The lawsuit contends he underwent three brain surgeries.
Police say they used a stun gun in self-defense.
