A bicyclist who rear-ended a government-owned vehicle parked in the roadway has received a $50,000 settlement.
The settlement was paid after 26-year-old Greg Kopecky sued the city and Ronny Burr, a temporary city employee working in the Streets Division, over the accident last year.
Kopecky suffered a concussion, a skull fracture and numerous cuts.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, the lawsuit claimed street signs clearly indicated that parking on the bicycle lane was expressly prohibited.
Burr was not cited for the accident.
