Nine former members of the Denver Broncos have been sued for seeking workers’ compensation for injuries suffered while they were playing football.
According to the Denver Post, the lawsuit was filed last week in U.S. District Court in Denver by the insurance company, St. Paul Fire and Marine, part of the Travelers insurance company.
The suit argues that the Broncos organization is incorrectly trying to get the insurance company cover the nine claims.
The lawsuit names the Broncos organization as a defendant along with nine former Broncos players who have pending claims. They include Floyd Little, Edwin Smith, John Rowser, Louie Wright, Godwin Turk, Barney Chavous , Mike Schnitker, Billy Van Heusen and Randy Gradishar.
The insurance company and Denver Broncos declined comment.
