The Idaho Fraud Awareness Coalition is offering three scholarships to high school seniors graduating in 2011 through an essay contest sponsored by State Farm Insurance.
The scholarship program raises awareness amongst young adults concerning the negative impact to our communities as a result of fraud, said Maria Ventura, State Farm spokeswoman.
The scholarship awards will be: first place, $1,000; second place, $750; third place $250. Entries must be postmarked no later than the Friday following the student’s spring break.
To be considered for the scholarship, high school seniors must write an original, 500-word essay on the topic “How Fraud Impacts Idahoans.” Detailed information about the contest, including rules and entry form, is available on the Coalition’s website, www.fightfraudidaho.com.
The Idaho Fraud Awareness Coalition was organized by the Idaho Department of Insurance in 2008 to teach Idahoans about the cost, consequences and impact of fraud to individuals, families and businesses
