Idaho Fraud Awareness Coalition Offers Student Scholarships

The Idaho Fraud Awareness Coalition is offering three scholarships to high school seniors graduating in 2011 through an essay contest sponsored by State Farm Insurance.

The scholarship program raises awareness amongst young adults concerning the negative impact to our communities as a result of fraud, said Maria Ventura, State Farm spokeswoman.

The scholarship awards will be: first place, $1,000; second place, $750; third place $250. Entries must be postmarked no later than the Friday following the student’s spring break.

To be considered for the scholarship, high school seniors must write an original, 500-word essay on the topic “How Fraud Impacts Idahoans.” Detailed information about the contest, including rules and entry form, is available on the Coalition’s website, www.fightfraudidaho.com.
