Bill Hertoghe has returned to Haig & Lewin, Inc., of Sacramento, as Vice President.
Hertoghe has assumed responsibilities for the Special Investigations Unit which includes identifying and investigating suspected fraudulent insurance claims presented to clients under contract with Haig & Lewin, Inc.
Hertoghe recently retired from the California State Lottery as Deputy Director of Security/Law Enforcement where he was Chief of Investigation. While at the Lottery he developed the first undercover program for lotteries in North America that focused on retailer fraud. The program was featured on Dateline – NBC in 2009.
Prior to his lottery employment, Hertoghe was an investigator with Haig & Lewin, Inc., a deputy inspector general in charge with the California Office of Inspector General and police captain with the Rocklin Police Department.
He earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice, a M.A. in Education and a M.S. in Business and also graduated from the prestigious POST Command College (Class 14). Bill is a licensed private investigator, an adjunct professor in the community college system and courtroom expert on police procedures and use of force.
