The owner of a Monroe, Wash., video game store has been accused of trying to hire a couple to burglarize the store and burn down a rental home he owns in Woodinville to collect on insurance.
The Seattle Times reports 40-year-old Michael A. Poole of Monroe was charged in King County Superior Court with soliciting arson and burglary.
Charging papers say Poole told the resident of the rental home his business was killing him and the house was going into foreclosure.
The couple went to authorities and helped record a conversation in which Poole allegedly offered to pay $10,000 for the arson.
