Nineteen people are facing charges in Tulare County, Calif., after a two-day sting operation targeting contractors operating without a license.
Officials with the Contractors State License Board say the sting was part of a wider effort to catch unlicensed contractors operating in Kern, Contra Costa, Los Angeles and Riverside counties.
In all, 107 people in the five counties were arrested in the effort, which targeted unlicensed contractors who might be scamming customers or operating without workers’ compensation insurance, among other problems.
Board officials say most of those nabbed in Tulare County were cited and released.
