Two people are hurt after a small, vintage military plane crashed near Erie Municipal Airport in Colorado.
The crash sparked a small grass fire when the plane went down about 10 a.m.
Chief Randy Templeton of the Mountain View Fire Protection District said the pilot, a 50-year-old man, and his 16-year-old grandson were in the plane at the time of the crash. The pilot had bumps and bruises and the teen likely suffered broken bones, Templeton said.
Their flight plan indicated they were en route to Greeley, Colorado. Templeton said the pilot had just fueled at the Erie Air Park.
The plane broke into pieces in a field west of the airport.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
