They call him the “Bird Man of Elsinore” and he’s crying foul over seed from Wal-Mart he says killed dozens of his feathered friends.
Lloyd Shook has been feeding birds along the shores of his Lake Elsinore, Calif. cottage for 25 years.
But he says some 50 birds got sick and died late last year right after the 71-year-old’s helpers fed them seed from a nearby Wal-Mart store.
He filed a claim with the store, asking for them to reimburse him the $550 he says it cost to clean up the dead birds.
But Wal-Mart officials won’t budge. They say he refused to show the store a sample of the bad seed and that he continued to buy the same product after the alleged incident.
