That “lowest ranking person” got a weekend in Los Angeles at company expense. Her reservations were at the Ritz Carlton at Marina Del Ray and she got to rent a convertible. She’d never been to Los Angeles so I authorized the weekend travel(saved on airfare) and recommended she have Sunday brunch in San Diego at the Hotel del Coronada… I used to live in LA so I knew exactly how to make the trip bearable for her and (considering she had just filed for divorce) I think she appreciated the assignment.

I live in CA. I would have loved the trip too. :)

I don’t understand how one with fraud charges pending is allowed to be a police officer. Stranger things have happened, i guess.

The type of clap trap comments that flows from this site is discouraging. Folks who throw stones at others should first clean out their own house before saying how bad others are.

Mr. Quackenbush was never convicted of anything and is therefore an innocent man. I respect the fact that he has apparently found a new career and one that defends the freedoms that each of us so woefully take for granted.

Sorry to disappoint you mrp… If Commissioner Quackenbush had not been such an arrogant twit I probably would not appreciate his predicament.
I’ve been involved with politicians for most of my adult life and an elected official is a SERVANT OF THE PEOPLE who serves at the pleasure of the people. I have found those who are humble I am more than willing to interact with, educate and promote financially and socially. Those who are ill-willed and arrogant will eventually be humbled and I can’t help but enjoy when the “reap what they have sown”…

    Former Fraud Manager,

You haven’t disappointed me at all. I have found that many in the insurance field over time have grown to be cynical, accusatorial, and ready to judge others, especially those out of fraud units. Mr. Quackenbush was no friend of the insurance companies nor did the people elect him to be one. He was an ambitious politician and yes, possibly a bit arrogant, as most politicians are as well, and man insurance people too I might add.

Whatever the faults of Mr Quackenbush, we too have many to account for. So their is no justification for revenge on someone unless we too are prepared to face the same treatment at the hands of some other avenger.

Finally, it seems to me that Mr. Quackenbush has turned his life around in a different career, and one that most insurance desk jockey’s would not trudge at that. We should applaud him for that, not hope he fails or gets shot by some lunatic with a taser.
