Deerbrook Auto insurance has announced it is pulling out of the California market. The company, which is owned by Allstate, submitted its application to withdraw from the state on May 31, a spokeswoman said.
The company said it is no longer writing new policies, and will begin non-renewing policies in January 2008.
In May, Allstate announced it would stop writing homeowners and landlord package policies in California. California Commissioner Steve Poizner also is looking into the company to see if it had charged customers excessive rates.
