GAB Robins’ MedInsights Notes Calif. Medical Provider Network Solutions for Clients

MedInsights, a provider of healthcare management services and member of the GAB Robins Group of Companies, is now offering a complete Medical Provider Network (MPN) to carriers and self-insured employers throughout California with its partners, Fair Isaac Corporation and Blue Cross of California.

SB 899, the recent California workers’ compensation legislation, authorizes insurance carriers and self-insured employers to establish
Medical Provider Networks to treat work-related injuries.

MedInsights Medical Provider Network accesses medical treatment through Blue Cross of California’s PPO (“Blue Cross”) network. Blue Cross has contracted with doctors, hospitals and other providers to respond to the special requirements of on-the-job injuries or illnesses. MedInsights’ clients who participate in the MPN receive automated access to the contract rates through Fair Isaac Corporation’s SmartAdvisor software for workers’ comp bill review.

GAB Robins handles approximately two million claims annually, providing claims services domestically and globally for the property and casualty insurance market.
