Accurate Construction Responds to Calif. Fire

June 14, 2005

Disaster Kleenup International Inc., a network of quality, independent property damage restoration contractors, announced that Accurate Construction, a DKI member company located in Harbor City, California, responded immediately when a disastrous fire struck the Cardinal Broadway Partners’ office complex in Mission Viejo on Sunday, May 1, 2005.

The fire destroyed a significant section of the 24,000 sq. ft. commercial building, interrupting water, power and communication services for all fourteen of its principal tenant spaces. After responding that same day, by early Monday morning Accurate project manager Mike Ryan had a full crisis-team in place to handle the ongoing emergency response.

By Tuesday, Accurate had two full work crews totaling approximately 25 people on-site. Security, restrooms and temporary power were restored shortly thereafter and the huge tasks of demolition and debris removal were well underway by mid-week. The project has now shifted into the restoration phase and is expected to last anywhere from six to eight months. Accurate is also handling management of the tenants’ contents for the complex.

“The transition to larger commercial projects is an important part of our company’s strategy,” David Goeppner, co-president of Accurate, commented. In the latter half of 2004, the company expanded its resources to accommodate these large projects into an already busy residential slate. Accurate Construction performs repairs on hundreds of disaster-related claims every year throughout Southern California.
